ORCABC is a non-profit organization that offers the necessary tools to combat organized retail crime to its members only.  To become a member an individual must apply due to the sensitive nature.

General Qualifications for ORCABC Membership

  • Applicant must have a vested interest in, or are affected, by issues relating to organized retail crime, and shall be:
    1. Those who are employed by a private business and whose primary responsibilities include reducing, deterring or investigating theft, or
    2. Public sector employees whose jobs are related to reducing, deterring or investigating crime (i.e. Law Enforcement, prosecutors, legislators, etc.).
  • Having met all other qualification, no applicant will be denied membership because of sex, color, race, religion, sexual orientation or ethnic origin.
  • Only individuals shall be eligible for membership.
  • NO personal email addresses included on the application.
  • No applicant for membership may be admitted unless such applicant meets requirements.

Terms and Conditions

  1. Applicants must have a vested interest in, or are affected, by issues relating to organized retail crime, and shall be:
    1. Those who are employed by a private business and whose primary responsibilities include reducing, deterring or investigating theft, or
    2. Public sector employees whose jobs are related to reducing, deterring or investigating crime (i.e. Law Enforcement, prosecutors, legislators, etc.).
  2. Applicants must have organized retail crime and/or management functions as part of its employment activities.
  3. Applicants must be in good standing within their respective company.
  4. Applicants and members must follow their respective company policies. 
  5. Applicants must have a corporate/business or government entity email address. (No personal email addresses)
  6. ORCABC does not allow SPAM, solicitation, or job recruiting.
  7. Applicants must agree to act professionally, demonstrating behaviours aligned with ORCABC values and expectations.
  8. All applications will be submitted and reviewed for approval by a selection committee.
  9. Membership term is two years from the date of the applicant’s application approval date.
  10. All applicants and members may be subject to a risk assessment. This can happen during the application process or during the membership term. Reasons for a risk assessment process can include, not limited to:
    1. Criminal charges or conviction.
    2. Concerning incidents or circumstances.
    3. Privacy concerns.
  11. Members are not to take any information from the site for personal gain.
  12. There will be no sharing of your password. Your password must be kept in a secure place.
  13. Actions up to and including expulsion from the site and ORCABC can occur for any violation of said standards.
  14. Applicants and members will have reviewed the Personal Information Protection Act http://www.bclaws.ca/Recon/document/ID/freeside/00_03063_01, and have an understanding of how this Act governs your collection, use and disclosure of personal information. Unauthorized use, collection and disclosure of personal information could have legal consequences. You agree to not disclose the personal information found within the website to unauthorized persons, nor will you relinquish control of your password information to anyone.
  15. Members must complete any documents required by ORCABC. 
  16. Members must abide by the Constitution and Bylaws of ORCABC.
